Biography

Greg Coffey is a scientist in the Electrochemical Materials & Systems group. He received a BA, and MS in Materials Science and Engineering from Washington State University.

  • High temperature electrochemistry (600-1000C)
  • SOFC fuel cell, NOX, / O2 automotive exhaust sensors, environmental degradation
  • High pressure phase equilibria (+50KSI)
  • Diesel fuel, and synthetic analog wax/crystallite formation
  • Corrosion at elevated temperatures/pressures (300C,2000PSI)
  • Mechanistic studies of Zircalloy corrosion
  • Ionic conduction
  • H+, O-2 conduction in dense oxide electrolytes
  • Energy storage
  • Lithium, Nickle, Sodium, Lead acid
